Winter is approaching quickly! In the Middle Tennessee Area, we’ve already experienced nights with freezing temperatures. The weather can be treacherous for the homeless community. Often, we have intentions to give back to the homeless and to find ways to serve. I wanted to spotlight someone for not just “wanting to give back” but executing on it. She made a post the morning of November 19th asking for assistance from her Facebook friends to purchase blankets. Nine hours later she was able to purchase 126 blankets to give to the homeless. This is a great example of how a Facebook Community can come together for a cause.
Thank you Kaneca Oldham for this initiative. Facebook is sometimes looked at in a negative light but on this day, we banded to together to help a cause. Great job serving your Local Community!
