Let’s talk about something I think too many of us overlook, “self-care”. Life gets busy! Between work, family, and constant responsibilities, it’s way too easy to put our own needs on the back burner. But I’ve learned that real wellness begins when we slow down and choose ourselves, even in the smallest ways.
With International Self-Care Day coming up on July 24, I wanted to shine a light on someone who truly embodies what intentional healing and care look like. Meet Timeeka Tardy, the powerhouse behind Massages On The Move, a Black woman-owned a luxury wellness brand based in Hendersonville, TN. She’s redefining what self-care means, especially for people who are always pouring into others.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, adjusting to a new home, or just in need of a pause, Timeeka has created a service that brings peace, healing, and luxury right to your doorstep. I had the chance to learn more about her story, her mission, and why her work is changing lives one session at a time.

Q&A with Timeeka Tardy, Founder of Massages On The Move
Tell us about your role and the services you offer.
I am Timeeka Tardy, a Master Massage Therapist and Post-Op Recovery Specialist. I’m also the founder of Massages On The Move. I created this wellness brand to offer mobile massage therapy and in-spa services that help people relax, recover, and feel whole again. My offerings include therapeutic and prenatal massage, post-op care, body contouring, spa parties, and couples sessions. I also provide memberships, custom treatment plans, and wellness programs for corporate clients. Whether I bring the service to your home or you visit my spa suite, my goal is always the same. I want to help you reset and feel restored.
How did you get started in this field?
Massage therapy found me. I have always had a healing touch, but once I started working with post-op clients, especially Black and Brown women who were recovering alone, I knew this was more than just a career. It became my mission to create a safe and luxurious space where people could heal with dignity.
What’s the most rewarding part of what you do?
It is seeing the change. When someone comes in tense, overwhelmed, or in pain and leaves feeling lighter, rested, and at peace, I know I’ve made a difference. I often hear things like, “This is the best I’ve felt in years” or “I finally slept through the night.” Those moments let me know I am living my purpose.
What do you enjoy outside of your business?
I believe in enjoying life. I love spa days, brunch, and spending time with my tribe. I’m always diving into creative projects, whether it is developing new massage techniques, writing, or mentoring other therapists. I’m also a proud mom and a music lover who believes in deep healing and frequent joy.
What challenges have you overcome, and what wins are you most proud of?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was surviving domestic violence. I could’ve stayed silent, but I turned that pain into purpose. In just six months, I went from zero clients to over 350, opened my own spa, and built a brand that has won multiple awards. Today, I mentor other massage therapists and advocate for better post-op care in the wellness industry. Every challenge helped shape who I am today.
What trends are you seeing in wellness that homeowners should know about?
People are shifting. Self-care is no longer something you save for special occasions, It’s becoming part of everyday life. I see more people turning their homes into wellness spaces and investing in regular recovery care. Whether it’s in-home massage or creating a peaceful post-op environment, people are learning to prioritize their healing.
How do your services support homeowners, new buyers, or real estate professionals?
I help bring peace into people’s homes. My mobile services are perfect for anyone dealing with stress, settling in after a move, or needing to recharge. It’s also a beautiful, thoughtful gift for new homeowners. For real estate agents, I offer pop-up spa events and wellness gift packages that give clients a moment to breathe during a hectic time. Wellness is a memorable way to make an impression.
My Final Thoughts
Self-care is not optional. It is essential. And it does not have to be fancy or complicated. It just needs to be intentional and consistent.
Timeeka Tardy has created something powerful with Massages On The Move. Her work reminds me that healing does not have to wait for the perfect time or place. It can happen right at home, when we decide to make space for ourselves.
If you have been feeling tired, stressed, or in need of something just for you, this is your sign. Take a moment. Reach out. Let your healing begin at home.
